Using Facebook Community Pages to Boost Your Business Pages

Facebook is a constantly evolving network that finds new and better ways to improve your business. We all know that Facebook has Business pages and Community pages. But recently, Facebook has made it possible for you to combine the two, allowing you to add your Business page to your Community page. This helps to boost the visibility of your business page.

So what’s the difference between the two and how can they help your business?

Business Pages are like other user profiles on Facebook. They allow you to connect with others and can be created and managed by businesses who want to boost their online presence and actively engage with customers.

Community Pages are similar to Business Pages in that users can connect with others. Instead of belonging to only one person, though, Community Pages are owned by the entire community. These pages are created by shared interests on users’ profiles. When an interest is added and there isn’t already a page for it, Facebook creates one.

Adding Your Business Page to Community Pages

After you log on to Facebook, select one of your business pages and click “Edit Page” on the top right corner. This brings up your page settings.

Next, click “Basic Information” on the left side of the page. You will see a drop-down box called “Category” and below it will be the box for “Community Pages.”

In the box next to “Community Pages” you will enter a topic that is related to your business page. For example, if you’re a wedding planner you would enter topics like “wedding,” “wedding planning,” etc. A drop-down list may appear after you type in your topic. If it is on the list, then a community page has already been created for your chosen topic, so you can click on it to select.

Once you’ve chosen your “Community Page,” you will see a link under the page title on your Facebook page. When someone clicks on this link, they will be taken to the Community Page you selected.

How Does It Help?

Now, anytime you post something on your Business page it will automatically show up on the Community page you’ve linked to. Any users who have “Liked” an interest or Community Page will be able to see those posts as well, even if they haven’t been to your Business page. You’ll be expanding your visibility online and broadening your brand power. More people will be able to find you easily.

Using Community pages will also generate more traffic to your blog or website. By having the things you post pop up on Community pages, more people will have the chance to click on your links that have been included in your post. Those people will then share that content with others in their own social network, driving your traffic even more.

Facebook has been giving businesses many valuable tools for marketing online. Being able to combine your Business page with the Community pages is just another excellent resource in social media marketing.

What do you think of this new development on Facebook? Have you linked up your Business pages to the Facebook Community pages? Let us know what you think!
