5 Social Media Marketing Habits to Perform Daily

With social media marketing, the amount of work required can be a little overwhelming. You have to update, reach new followers and keep an eye on any negative content that refers to your business- just to name a few tasks.

It is important to get into a daily routine in order to avoid feeling weighed down by your social media marketing campaign. When you focus on these five habits, you will be able to develop a strong brand image and handle all issues without a lot of unnecessary stress.

Log In Every Day

This sounds like a no-brainer, but there are many companies out there who think that they can simply set up a few social media profiles and leave them to stew on their own for weeks on end. But social media cannot be run on autopilot. It requires daily attention.

Set up a specific time each day that you can focus entirely on your social media accounts. Use that time to post status updates, read through follower comments and any other tasks that require attention each day.

Respond to Follower Interactions

A social media profile is a way for you to reach out to fans and vice versa. When you log in to your accounts, check for any comments, direct messages, wall posts, and Twitter mentions. Do not ignore attempts by your fans to engage with you online.

These can be good or bad interactions, so it is important to stay on top of them and issue responses accordingly. Showing your fans that you are actively participating in social media will encourage even greater interactions.

Add Interesting Content

Once you have given responses to recent interactions with your followers, you want to make sure that you are always adding fresh and stimulating content to your social media accounts.

Update your status with a question for your fans to answer. Post a picture or video. Share an interesting blog post or article. Ask for feedback on your products or services.

Make your calls-to-action clear so that the followers will know just what you want them to do. It can be a simple statement like “Share your thoughts below” or “Tell me your opinion.” This will open the door for more interaction with followers.

Find New Followers

It is ideal for the majority of your new fans and followers to come from people who are dedicated to your brand or content already. However, for the most part we still have to work at getting new followers on social media and that means being proactive.

There are several ways to do this. For instance, you can find other people involved in your industry and start following them on Twitter, plus any of their current followers. Many people will start following you back, which will increase your followers- especially those who will have an interest in your brand.

You can seek out people in a related niche on Facebook also and make initial contact with them through private messaging or posts on their wall.

Search Daily for Branded Terms

Each day, you should do a search for your company’s branded phrases. It is also a good idea to search for abbreviations and misspellings that could be your phrases as well.

These could pop up in unsolicited reviews, tweets, blog posts, Facebook posts or articles. Doing a search will show you both positive and negative things that are being said about your brand.
