Video Marketing – Part 2

This is the second in a series of posts on video marketing see the first post here.  In the last post we talked about the benefits of video marketing.  Now it is time to take advantage of video marketing.  The most important thing to remember is JUST DO IT!

Here are five getting started tips:

Tip #1 -  It doesn’t have to be professional. It does not have to be professional to get it out there.  It is better to get it done than to not do it at all.  Grab a flip camera, a web camera or even a digital camera with video and get going.

Tip #2 – It doesn’t have to be long. Shorter videos are more likely to be watched than longer ones.  People today are busy.  They don’t have time to watch long drawn out videos.  YouTube limited videos to 10 minutes max.  Most popular videos are under 5 minutes.

Tip #3 – Titles and tags are important. You want to be sure to research and use keywords in your video title and tags. This will get your video found and watched. That’s what you want after all.

Tip #4 – Distribute, distribute, distribute. You want your video found everywhere.  Sign up for all the video sites, or use a service like TubeMogul to automate the process.  The more places you share the video the more likely it will be watched.

Tip #5 – Point others back to your site. Add a credit or streaming text to your video with your url so viewers see it and visit it.  After all you are using video to promote your business and lead them back to your website.
