LinkedIn is another social network.  Like others there is a bit of a learning curve to truly making it work for you.  I’m sure if you’re like me you could use a few tips to help you navigate the LinkedIn world.  The following are a few “getting started” tips for using LinkedIn.

Getting Started with LinkedIn:

You want to fill out your profile completely. This gives those who find you on LinkedIn the valuable information about you that could determine whether or not they make a connection with you on LinkedIn or even if they decide to come to you for business or not.  This is crucial.

Join groups related to your interests. In these groups you can find the connections you are looking to make, quickly and easily.

Browse connections to find people you already know. These people will be key to “linking” you to others that you may not know already.  After all, ultimately, LinkedIn is about “connections”.  You want to make these.

These are just a few of the things that you can do to make a positive start with using LinkedIn.  Give it a try and see what you can accomplish.
