Tips for Keeping a Blog Running

Having a blog as a business owner can be a smart move and a powerful business strategy, however it takes time to maintain the blog and keep it running.  Here are a few tips to help you to maintain your blog and keep it running at its best.

These include:

Keeping a schedule. Scheduling works for just about any area of business, but especially well when it comes to running a blog.  A good blog schedule can help you to stay on track and keep your blog full of content.  And in the blog world, content is king.

Brainstorming. Brainstorming is a great way to create new and exciting content.  Use your clients questions and news stories to help give you ideas then create for yourself a list of topics you’d like to blog on as a result.

Outsourcing it. Sometimes you just can’t get around to everything in your business.  The blog is one area that you can outsource.  Finding a writer or virtual assistant to take over this task can be a huge weight off of your shoulders and can be a smart business decision for you.

    Very interesting thought, maintaining my blog by outsourcing. I’ve thought about it, but always wondered what the cost would be? Sometimes I get buried in the “social” aspect of promoting my blogs that I forget to add content to the sites I’m trying to promote! Is that a sign of me needing to outsource? LOL

    Great article and certainly things we need to remember when trying to keep up with our blogs. I think the schedule is one of the most important things about it as it seems to help me stay on track. However, there are even times I get off that schedule and find myself scurring around to get it all done. I absolutely love to write and have loved blogging. I really started it in the beginning to help me hone in on my writing skills and found it is quite fun!
