Social media is widely popular, among everyone, but it is proving to be extremely popular among moms. Women today are using social media in huge numbers. This could be due to a number of reasons, but no matter what reasons there are one thing is for sure. If you are in business and you are using Web 2.0 tactics to market your business, if anyway possible you should be targeting women and moms, it is just a smart move.
Women are social beings, which is one highly likely reason that social media is so engaging for them it gives them yet another avenue by which to connect with others, and if you can connect with them via social media you have got yourself a winning strategy.
After all, even the big companies, including Walmart are doing it, as a result of using social media they have a group of moms, called fondly Walmart’s Eleven moms, which help to get the word out about money saving tips. This gives Walmart an edge.
Then there are those companies that tried, but just didn’t get it, namely Motrin and their failure of a marketing campaign with a recent commercial mentioning the “pain” of babywearing. Using social media to target moms is smart, just be sure you’re smart about it and do your research, it is just a click away.
