Are you a bad Twitter user?  Didn’t know there was a such thing? Well, there is.  Many users whether intentionally or unintentionally use Twitter and are spamming their followers.  Just this week I got two different DM’s or direct messages that just rubbed me the wrong way. 

First – Don’t send me a DM telling me after you get to know me you’ll follow me – you get to know me by following me.

Second – Don’t follow me and then unfollow me and them send me a DM to RT your stuff because when I go to respond to your DM I can’t because you unfollowed me.

In addition to this, generally spamming is merely using your account to promote yourself or your business and not interacting with your followers.  Generally, you won’t be followed for long using this method.  Nor will people continue to follow you if you abuse the direct messages, as this is a Twitter users pet peeve.

So, check yourself to be sure you aren’t becoming known as a bad Twitter user.
